Cautions

  • Long hiking day: At 6-7 hours of walking, start early. Aim to depart Takaosanguchi Station by 8:00 AM at the latest
  • Escape routes: From Kobotoke Pass or Mt. Kagenobu, you can descend to Kobotoke bus stop. Do not push through if you feel fatigued
  • Water supply: Teahouse operations vary by season and weather. Carry at least 1.5L of water
  • Daylight hours: In winter, it gets dark around 4:30 PM. Plan your descent from Mt. Jinba with ample time
  • Bus schedule: Buses from Jinba-kōgen-shita are infrequent — check the timetable before you go
  • Footwear: Standard hiking shoes are sufficient, but waterproof boots are recommended after rain as some sections get muddy
